In this step-by-step guide, we’ll walk you through the installation process so you can get started right away.
Step 1: Download our App
Download the PumpSpy app from the App Store (iOS devices) or Google Play (Android devices).
Step 2: Unplug Cords
Unplug your sump pump and any other cords from the AC wall outlet.
Step 3: Plug in Outlet
Plug the Smart Outlet 2.0 into the AC wall outlet. Secure the Smart Outlet 2.0 to the AC wall outlet with the included mounting screw if desired.
Step 4: Connect Smart Outlet to WiFi
Open the PumpSpy app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the Smart Outlet 2.0 to a WiFi network.
Step 5: Plug Sump Pump into Smart Outlet
Plug your sump pump and float activation switch (if applicable) to the top receptacle on the Smart Outlet 2.0. Connect any other desired devices to the bottom receptacle on the Smart Outlet 2.0.
Step 6: Install Float Switch
Install the High Water Float Switch at least 1” higher than the “on” level of the main sump pump. Use a screwdriver to secure the hose clamp to the discharge pipe. Connect the High Water Float Switch to the bottom of the Smart Outlet 2.0 at the green connection.
Step 7: Monitor Your System
Once your Smart Outlet is connected, you can monitor your sump pump system from anywhere using the PumpSpy app. Receive alerts, view real-time data, and stay informed about your pump’s activity.
